Osun Speaker, Aides Stable After Road Accident
The Osun State Speaker, Timothy Owoeye and some of his aides are receiving treatment in a hospital after his convoy was involved in an accident on Thursday.
It was gathered that the accident occurred around 2pm along Ilesha/Osogbo when the Speaker was heading to Osogbo from Ilesha after an official assignment.
An eyewitness said a vehicle going to Ilesha lost control as a result of heavy rainfall and rammed into the convoy going to Osogbo.
Media aide to the Osun Speaker, Kunle Alabi confirmed the accident.
He said: “It was an head-on collision along Osogbo/Ilesha road. Speaker and his aides that were injured have been taken to hospital for medical attention.
“The Speaker is fine but they have to check him very well to ensure that he is not in any way injured. I can’t confirm to you the numbers of his aides that were injured but nobody died in the accident.” (The Nation)
Meanwhile, Senator Abu Ibrahim, an All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, says 2023 is the time for the geo-political north to pay back the party’s presidential candidate, Sen Bola Tinubu, by giving him support for his aspiration.
Ibrahim, from Katsina State, stated this on Thursday in Katsina during his visit to the Campaign Office of the Katsina State APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr Dikko Radda.
