It was a very colourful event on Wednesday, October 20, 2022 when the APC in Delta State with open arms received a throng of PDP defectors at the APC Secretariat in Igbuku Owhe Unit One in Owhe town, Isoko North LGA of Delta State.

The defectors were drawn from various units across Owhe town which is also the country home and political ward of the PDP Isoko North LGA Chairman, Hon. Ogorugba.

Many of the PDP big shots expressed their total displeasure with the PDP administration in Delta State at the ceremony graced by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who was represented by Hon. Pst. Edewor Egedegbe ( SLA to the DSP)

Also present to add colour to the occasion were Barr. Emebuno Daniel (APC Isoko North LGA Chairman), Hon. Michael Enahoro (Ph.D, OFR; & DTHA Candidate APC Isoko North Constituency), Dcn. Isaac Osiobe (Chairman APC Isoko North LGA Elders & Leaders Forum), Elder Ugu Jonathan (Chairman APC Owhe Clan Elders & Leaders Forum), Engr. Omidhi Lucky Ph.D (Number One Leader APC Igbuku Owhe), among many others.

The APC Isoko North LGA Chairman, Barr. Emebuno Daniel, in his speech applauded the bold and courageous decision of the defectors stating that it was indeed a sign of good omen in actualizing the APC’s 5/5 victory in the forthcoming general elections even as he ushered the defectors of their full integration into the APC membership register with the assurance of their membership cards.

He also charged the defectors to feel free at home in the APC family fold, stating that the APC is one that it is open and accommodating to all who wish to sincerely ensure the establishment of the dividends of democracy for all Deltans.

Hon. Pst. Edewor Egedegbe the Representative of His Excellency Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege (CFR) said that the occasion was bringing good omen to the PDP in Delta State.

The representative of the DSP applauded and welcomed the defectors into the APC as he assured them that they will not regret this decision they have made because it is an obvious fact everywhere that His Excellency Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege is really doing well in ensuring to see that the true Delta State of our dreams and not the Smart agenda turned into Scam agenda that the Okowa and PDP Delta State led Govt are making the people of Delta to go through.

“warri Dem say we no de carry last but Okowa and PDP Delta don make us carry last finish this time but God go use Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege to revive us again”.

The representative of the DSP further urged everyone to continue in this good work and also ensure that come 2023 they vote His Excellency Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege as Governor and also ensure they vote for the APC 5/5 agenda to ensure total victory for the APC.

Hon. Michael Enahoro (Ph.D, OFR, & DTHA CANDIDATE APC Isoko North Constituency) in his own remarks sized the opportunity to once again appreciate the Party for giving him the opportunity to fly the flag of the APC as the APC Candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly Isoko North Constituency in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. He applauded everyone who have in one way or the other put in efforts to ensure that the occasion was a reality and a success as being witnessed.

He concluded by charging the people to ensure they go collect their PVC’s from INEC and ensure come 2023 they vote His Excellency Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege as Governor and also ensure they vote the APC 5/5 victory agenda so as to get the much anticipated genuine dividends of democracy.

He further emphasized that voting APC 5/5 is a mandatory tax that every APC Isoko Nation Faithfuls must not take lightly because in doing so they will be honouring a lifetime wish of the Late icon and one time Father of APC Isoko Nation, Sen. Okpozo Francis Spanner who happened to be a very dear friend to the APC presidential Candidate in person of HE Sen. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; both of them were close colleagues in the Senate and it was by that relationship that APC was established in Delta State.

The occasion further took a pleasurable and joyous twist as an APC Isoko Nation chieftain and an aspirant for the APC ticket for House of Assembly in the last APC Primaries in person of Chief Dennis Ogun, applauded the courage of the defectors by giving out cash gift of N50,000 to the Male defectors, and thousands of pieces of clothing attire to the women defectors.

Leading the throng of PDP defectors into the APC were some of the founding fathers of the PDP in Igbuku Owhe community Pa Johnson Agadie, Elder Amarere John, Elder Agudie, Elder David Umukoro, Mrs Julianna Ikroje, Comr. Ogorugba Happy etc.

Pa Johnson Agadie speaking on behalf of the Decampees expressed total disappointment and distrust for the Okowa and PDP Delta led Govt in Delta State and Isoko Nation in particular with special regards for Owhe town.

Pa Johnson Agadie pointed out in clear terms that in taking this decision there was no sort of appointment or empowerment agreement reached or signed with anybody as the decision was borne out of the yearnings and passion of the people that they must experience a change of political party in the governance of Delta State come 2023; stating that the Political, Economic, and Societal decadence and underdevelopment that is being experienced in Delta State was as a result of the over 20 year misrule of PDP in the state for which they have not been able to give a good account of.

Engr. Omidhi Lucky (Ph.D) in giving the closing remarks for the occasion applauded the defectors for their boldness and courage to stand for what is right even as he also appreciated everyone who put in efforts to ensure that the occasion was a success with special regards to his very good friend and brother Elder Ugu Jonathan.
