33-Year-Old Son Of Former Minister Solomon Dalung Dies
Nehemiah Dalung, the son of Solomon Dalung, the former Sports and Youth Development Minister has died.
Dalung shared the news of his son’s death on Facebook on Monday.
“Although Nehemiah’s life ended before we were ready, the time he spent in our lives was memorable,” he said. Nehemiah Dalung was 33 years old at the time he died.
“There are no words to express the deep pain and sorrow of losing one’s son at his prime age, but we take consolation in God who gives and takes. May his soul rest in peace.”
Dalung did not say how or why he died in the brief statement.
When Dalung posted a photo of Nehemiah critically ill in a hospital on Sunday, he asked for prayers from the public.
“Kindly include us in your prayers, my son is in critical condition after being admitted to the hospital,” he wrote.
From 2015 to 2019, Dalung, a lawyer and academic, served as Sports Minister.
Recall that Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, announced his intention to run for the House of Representatives in May.
Dalung announced his candidacy through the Social Democratic Party in a Facebook post (SDP).
He was a cabinet minister from Plateau State between 2015 and 2019, during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term.
On April 18, he resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress, prompting the declaration for the House of Representatives.
“The wise who refuse to rule must be prepared to live under the rule of idiots,” Socrates said. “By the grace of God, I will be selecting my nomination form for the House of Representatives Langtang North & South Federal Constituency Elections,” Mr Dalung said.
