META, the American multinational technology conglomerate, has restored its WhatsApp network following two-hour outage on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 that triggered a burst for alternative messaging services like Telegram.

CNN previously reported that WhatsApp was experiencing a significant outage, preventing some users from sending messages, a development that triggered a shift to Telegram.

GWG also noticed the issue Tuesday morning, when company employees were unable to send messages via WhatsApp.

The company, which also owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, among other products and services, previously stated that it was working hard to restore service as soon as possible.

According to data from Down Detector, there have been nearly 70,000 app-based reports of the outage.

As of the time of writing, the WhatsApp network had been restored after two-hour outage, and messages had begun to drop and with it lessening the rush to Telegram.
