Reason Govt Slammed Uduaghan With Terrorism Links

New insights have been thrown up into the terrorism label put on Kogi political player, Mrs Natasha Uduaghan following back and forth arguments between the PDP chief and officials of the Kogi State Government.

GWG.NG had reported the Kogi State Government as declaring Uduaghan, who is married to a prominent political player in Delta State, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan as being a protector of one of the alleged masterminds of the Owo Church attack, Safiu.

Mrs Uduaghan has, however, rebuffed the charge saying that the Kogi State Government was trying to take her out of circulation upon what she claimed as her growing political strength in Kogi Central.

Uduaghan is the PDP senatorial candidate in Kogi Central, the home base of Governor Yahaya Bello where the APC swept the polls in 2019.

While Uduaghan cleared herself of terrorism, the government through Mr Kingsley Fanwo, the State commissioner for information and strategy stuck to his script that she was linked with Safiu against the desire of the administration to clear Kogi Central of terrorism.

The two spoke separately to Channels.

Rebuffing the allegations, Natasha Uduaghan said

“We got to know that Yahaya Bello was going to stage a search, plant explosives and get us embarrassed. In the 2019 election I was tagged as unfit to campaign because I was single, but now that I am got married to a gentleman to Delta State, there has been a campaign that I am married to a militant who is going to bring militancy to Kogi State. Yahaya Bello has carefully been masterminding a plan to find a way of taking me out of the election in Kogi State.

“I have no connection with Safiu other than the fact that he decamped to PDP three weeks ago and based on that Yahaya Bello got offended that he would not avail himself to disrupt the 2023 campaign as he did in 2019. That’s the gentleman’s offence.

“I will actually appreciate if the DSS invites me, but I will also want the DSS to invite Yahaya Bello as well and they bring Safiu to the table and Asuku (Chief of Staff)

“It is politically motivated and it is political because Yahaya Bello knows he is failing and he knows that he is going to lose. I bet you, PDP is going to clear all seats in Kogi State because we are tired of the antics of Yahaya Bello.”

Rebuffing Natasha Uduaghan, Fanwo responding to claims that Safiu had in the past been publicly seen with Governor Bello and other senior officials of the government, said:

“You know the way these people operate. They tend to get close to these people to gather a lot of information on how they can affect the security architecture of the place and we cannot deny that. The fact that he has been found out and by the time he was found out he had already gone back to the people that gave him the contract of terrorism by saying that he is fully with Natasha Uduaghan and the rest.

“Our place is not his place and as we approach the 2023 General Election he has decided to fully associate with the people that had given him the contract to come and distabilise the security architecture of the state. It is a contract of disabilisation, a contract of blood bath that we are witnessing today.

“When we came in Kogi Central was the dungeon of criminality and they killed people daily when PDP was in power. Even some international terrorist organisations had their cells in Kogi Central. With the activities of Barrister Natasha Uduaghan and her cohorts, Kogi Central is now gradually drifting back to the Kogi Central of yesteryears. 51.2% of the crime in Kogi State is coming from Kogi Central alone.”
