What You Should Do To Control Heat Rash

Rash

Most folks get heat rash on their bodies when the weather is dry and hot especially during dry season. Heat rash is unpleasant but usually harmless. After a few days, it usually improves on its own.

It’s symptoms include small, raised spots, an itchy, prickly sensation, and mild swelling. The rash is usually red, but it may be less visible on brown or black skin.

The symptoms of heat rash in adults and children are frequently the same and can appear and spread anywhere on the body, but it cannot be passed on to others.

The most important thing is to keep your skin cool so that you do not sweat and irritate the rash. Wear loose cotton clothing, lightweight bedding, cool baths or showers, and drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

To relieve itching or prickling, apply something cold, such as a damp cloth or an ice pack (wrapped in a tea towel), to the rash for up to 20 minutes. Tap or pat the rash instead of scratching it.
Avoid using perfumed shower gels or creams.

A pharmacist can assist you with heat rash. Consult with a pharmacist about heat rash. He or she can offer advice and recommend the best treatment.

Calamine lotion, antihistamine tablets, and hydrocortisone cream may be recommended by a pharmacist; however, children under the age of ten and pregnant women should seek medical advice before using this treatment.
