Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has sacked Senator Aisha Dahiru popularly known as Binani as his presidential campaign coordinator for Adamawa State apparently aiming to quell the crisis in the state chapter of the APC.

The development follows the sack of the Adamawa senator as the APC governorship candidate by the courts and her rejection by a significant number of party stalwarts as Tinubu’s campaign manager in Adamawa.

GWG.NG reports that the Adamawa State Executive Committee of the APC had on Wednesday stated its rejection of the senator as the Presidential campaign coordinator. The rejection was upon the division between her and other stakeholders in the party on her emergence as governorship candidate.

Reacting to the upheaval in the state chapter of the party, the Director-General of the PCC, Governor Simon Lalong moved fast on Thursday to effect a change. The move by the PCC came as Senator Dahiru was alleged to have tendered her resignation.

Effecting a change in the leadership of the Adamawa State PCC, Lalong in a letter announced the appointment of Mr Martins Babale, a former deputy governor of the state as the new coordinator for the state.

“Appointment to serve as Adamawa state Interim Coordinator for Tinubu/Shetima Presidential Campaign Council.

“By way of this letter, I’m pleased to formally convey your appointment as Adamawa state Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

“This appointment is fitting and appropriate, given your impressive political achievement and the exemplary leadership you have demonstrated as a major pillar of the party.

“We are confident that your wealth of experience will impact greatly on our mission to drive an effective message-driven campaign.”

Whether the sack of Senator Dahiru as the Tinubu campaign coordinator could bring peace to the party in Adamawa State and stem the crisis is one that would be seen in the days ahead.
