Atiku, Kwankwaso, Lose Out As Ganduje Calms Crisis In Kano APC

Expectations by Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso and Atiku Abubakar to reap from the crisis that recently reared its head in the Kano State chapter of the APC has apparently evaporated after Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje moved in late on Monday to reconcile the warring camps.

GWG.NG reports that the powerful deputy governorship candidate of the party, Murtala Sule Garo had been locked in battle that turned physical with the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Honourable Alhassan Ado Doguwa.

According to Daily Trust, Doguwa had been accused of attacking Garo during a stakeholders’ meeting at the residence of the state deputy governor and APC governorship candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, injuring the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

However, the Majority Leader denied the allegations, but threatened to continue fighting Garo “to the end.”

But on Tuesday, APC chairman in Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, said Ganduje had the reconciliation between the two party members and settled the crisis, a move that was apparently prompted after Kwankwaso showed an interest in luring Doguwa.

The Kano APC chairman said, ”I assure the public that there is no any crisis in our party anymore. Alhassan Ado and Murtala Garo have been reconciled. Everything is now in the past. We are now one and united.”

Abbas further stated that the APC members in Kano will continue working together in harmony to ensure the success of the party in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

Commenting on the development, Ado Doguwa declared that he had put the matter behind him and forged ahead to continue commitment towards the success of APC in Kano and the country.

He said, “His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has reconciled Murtala Sule Garo, and I. The meeting was attended by Nasiru Aliko Koki and the state APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, and the meeting started 11pm on Monday up to 4am of today.”

Doguwa further explained that, “We reviewed the crisis and apologized to each other. The governor told us kind words. He showed each of us where we were wrong. He offered advice and said he considers us both as his sons.

“W have resolved to bury the hatchet, and I will continue my support to the success of APC in 2023. I will continue to support Gawuna-Garo, Tinubu-Shettima and APC at all level in 2023.”

Doguwa also said he has forgiven Garo and all other party members and supporters that offended him, calling on them to forgive him too.

GWG.NG had earlier reported that Kwankwaso had set up a team of four to negotiate with Doguwa with the aim of luring him to join the NNPP amid the crisis in the Kano chapter of the APC. However, with the latest development the move may have derailed.
