Davido Disowns Four Friends, Pulls Down Atlanta Festival Plans In First Social Media Outing After Ifeanyi’s Death

Music super star, David Adeleke, aka Davido has done away with four friends, pulled down plans for the highly anticipated ‘Are We African Yet’ A.W.A.Y Festival as he made his first interaction with social media since the death of his son, Ifeanyi just over a week ago.

GWG.NG reports that Ifeanyi drowned in the swimming poll in the musician’s residence just over a week ago when his parents were away on a family trip out of their Banana Island, Lagos residence.

In a subtle development indicating cancellation of his much anticipated A.W.A.Y. Festival, Davido pulled down all the pinned posts heralding the event that was scheduled to hold in Atlanta, USA on November 18.

The subtle announcement came as the music star popularly known as Davido performed his first social media action a week after the death of his son, Ifeanyi.

GWG.NG reports that the ‘Are We African Yet’ A.W.A.Y Festival which Davido announced last September was scheduled to draw some of the continent’s leading musical acts including Kizz Daniel, Pheelz, Lojay and BNXN (FKA Buju). They were to join Davido onstage at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Nov. 18, 2022.

Davido had said that the A.W.A.Y Festival was “to unite communities, promote collaboration and celebrate the diversity and magic of African music and culture.” The event was also described as an “opportunity to build a coalition between Africa and the world. Through the power of music, A.W.A.Y seeks to celebrate our shared parallels in culture, dance, clothing and provide an opportunity to empower everyone to build pride and claim their heritage proudly.”

Besides, check also revealed that besides pulling down the A.W.A.Y. Festival posts, that Davido had also reduced his friends on the Instagram platform by four. GWG.NG is yet to identify who the four persons are. Other pinned posts were also yanked off the page.
