Water No Get Enemy, Uduaghan Pleads For Okowa, Oborevwori, Says Omo-Agege Not Accountable

In a major development in the unfolding fight for political supremacy between Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his penultimate predecessor, Chief James Ibori, another former governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has come out to plead for support for Okowa.

Speaking at the PDP Delta South Leadership meeting held at his Warri residence, Uduaghan said that support for Okowa and Sheriff Oborevwori as governor was imperative because the option of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was not practicable as according to him, the APC candidate cannot be held to account.

GWG.NG reports that it was the first time that Uduaghan was voicing support for Okowa’s vice-presidential aspiration and for Oborevwori.

The development comes in the face of the defection of some of Uduaghan’s inner cabinet including his former protocol chief Dr Chris Oghenechowen, political adviser Chief Paulinus Akpeki, and technical aides including Dr. Anthonia Ashiedu, and Olorogun Stephen Dieseruvwe as leg-men for the Omo-Agege campaign.

Speaking at the meeting to flag-off the ward to ward campaign, Dr Uduaghan said:

“I want to plead with us. Make we be like water. Water nor get enemy. When you quarrel, fight and God say this is what I want, let’s respect that position,” he remarked.

In pleading for support for Okowa as vice-presidential candidate, Uduaghan said:

“We have no option but to support him. Nobody [from our state] has held that position.”

“Ibori is our national leader. Virtually all of us are still members of that family. Whatever is in your hearts, please give a space. A space that gives support to our presidential and vice presidential candidates,” he added.

Drumming support for Oborevwori, Uduaghan said that he is the better option because he can be held accountable unlike the candidate of the other party who he said cannot be approached or held accountable.

Against the grain of allegations that some were already working against the senatorial bid of Michael Diden aka Ejele, he described the allegation as devilish and immoral.

Remarkably as the meeting progressed one of Uduaghan’s avowed godsons while he was governor and now a leg man for Okowa, Funkekeme Solomon who is director-general of the Oborevwori Campaign pleaded for forgiveness from Uduaghan for all those who supposedly betrayed him.

“Your Excellency, please, forgive us our sins. Many of us have sinned against you,” he stated.
