A group of pastors, under aegis of Nigeria Ministers in Politics (NMN) is aiming to ride on the popularity of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to push through the Labour Party governorship candidate in Delta State, Deacon Kennedy Pela.

The pastors at a meeting at Open Heaven Hall, Ubeji pledged to advance the campaign of Deacon Pela saying that he is best positioned from his antecedents to move the state forward.

Speaking on behalf of the pastors, the Convener, Rev. Francis Bebor, urged voters in the state to guard against vote-buying as he charged them to have their voter cards ready to imprint their choice on who governs the state after Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Noting that the choice of Peter Obi would be best for the country, Bebor said that the gains of having him as president would be limited in Delta if the Labour Party does not produce the governor.

He said “we will work to make sure that Pastors across the state direct their voters toward credible leaders. If you vote for only Peter Obi, you may not be able to reach Abuja, but when you have a governor of the same party with him, then you can get free and easy access to everything. This is why we are happy to endorse Deacon Kennedy Pela, Delta State Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party as our candidate. We will go out there to preach Labour Party in our various ministries.”

Responding to the endorsement of the pastors, Deacon Pela said that the bid to be governor of Delta State was a call from God and that the time for that vision had come.

He vowed to walk along the path of Peter Obi in turning Delta from a consumption to a production society.
