Umahi Hails New Telegraph, State Correspondent On NMMA Award

Governor David Nweze Umahi has congratulated the State Correspondent of New Telegraph Newspaper, Comrade Uchenna Inya on the conferment of a merit award as  the most innovative Reporter of the year by the  Nigerian  Media Merit Award (NMMA).

The Governor”s goodwill message was contained in a Statement endorsed by his Special Assistant  on Media and Strategy, Chief Chooks Oko and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, Tuesday.

Engineer Umahi who was full of praises to Comrade Inya for upholding professional aptitude in the discharge of his statutory duties, observed that his penchant for objectivity earned him the laurel.

While congratulating him for the feat achieved, Engineer Umahi enjoined Comrade Inya not to be carried away by his latest accomplishment but see same as a call for greater service to humanity.

“On-behalf of the people and Government of Ebonyi State, i congratulate one of our own, a seasoned Journalist, Uchenna Inya of the New Telegraph Newspaper for his latest award as the most Innovative Reporter of the year.

“Uchenna over time has been a dependable ally in the Ebonyi project whose reportage has been nothing short of professionalism in the course of his practice.

“I therefore on this occasion congratulate him and urge him to continue to do that which he knows how to do best as a golden fish no longer has a hiding place.”

He enjoined other Journalists in the State to take a clue from Comrade Inya who is always more concerned about balance and objectivity in his reports rather than destructive criticisms.

Governor Umahi also applauded the New Telegraph Newspaper for entrusting their confidence in the capacity of the Ebonyi born Journalist, assuring that they would continue to enjoy the good dividends of hiring Comrade Inya following the NMMA award.
