APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu opened up on the controversy over his background, his university training and working experience with Deloitte and Mobil Oil in the United States.

Tinubu who said he was open to doing a DNA test to prove his parentage also threw shades at a rival who he said has been accused of not being a Nigerian.

Tinubu spoke at the Chatham House Lecture in London, United Kingdom.

GWG.NG reports that this was the second time that Tinubu would be speaking at Chatham House, the first being at the beginning of the last decade when he addressed the United Kingdom foreign affairs experts on the plans for the APC.

Speaking on his background, Tinubu said:

“My record is consistent in the school, in the university they questioned, and they now confessed that they wasted their money and their time. The record is there, the transcript is there showing March 1952. I am not claiming another father. I am Tinubu and Tinubu proper. If they want a DNA, they could as well require for one.

“One of them has even been accused of not being a Nigerian citizen and I didn’t touch that area. Equally it…Deloite, Chicago State University where I graduated has attested to that and now, I can announce that I have received my original replacement degree certificate from them.

Further opening up on his background at the Chatham House lecture, Tinubu said:

“Deloitte trained me as an accountant, Mobil Oil has attested to my outstanding record. I got to the pinnacle of my career. In the private sector, who among them can brag about that…

“Yes, you want to wrestle with the pig, you got to live with the dirt. That is what I am doing. I got into politics knowing fully well that it is a muddy water…”
