‘Somethings About Fani-Kayode Are Better Left Unsaid’ – Former Secretary Says Amid Amaechi’s N2b Fraud Allegation

Issues from the past were being thrown up about All Progressives Congress, APC presidential campaign spokesman Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on Thursday as former and present political associates including a former permanent secretary measured up on some of his contemporary political eruptions.

The issue arose after a twitter user accused the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed of turning the screws against Fani-Kayode because of the fact that the former aviation minister has joined the APC. According to the twitter user, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed was silent on the alleged past and misdeeds of Fani-Kayode while he was an antagonist of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.

The issue arose after Hakeem Baba-Ahmed who is a sibling of Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice-presidential candidate of Labour Party, reprimanded those who were echoing insinuations by Fani-Kayode that Datti Baba-Ahmed was from Mauritania.

He had gone further to lament that the APC could not find what he described as a better person to represent it as spokesman.

He had said:

“The real victim is a party that wants to govern Nigeria, and cannot find a more discredited character to sell it.”

He was then taken up by a twitter user, Upright @Beta_9ja_ who claimed that he, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed had been quiet about the alleged misdeeds of Fani-Kayode.

When they can do it for you, they can do it to you. Evil is evil and should be condemned by all. Don’t wait till the evil no longer serves your purpose before condemning it. When he was vile against PMB, u praised him and table turns, we see him as evil. He has always been evil.

Replying, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed who served as permanent secretary in the ministry of aviation while Fani-Kayode was the minister said that somethings about the former minister are better left unsaid.

Following the post by Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, another twitter user dug up an old tweet of Rotimi Amaechi alleging that Fani-Kayode was empowered by Governor Peter Odili to refurbish the Port-Harcourt airport when the former was minister of aviation with nothing supposedly done.

Fani-Kayode was yet to respond to the development as at the time of publication.
