France edged out Morocco by 2-0 in the second semi-finals of the football World Cup competition as the European country became the first to breach the hitherto strong defence of the African country in Qatar.

Though Morocco had an enviable control and domination of the two halves of the game, the African cum Arab nation urged on by a boisterous supporters who occupied most of the stadium were unable to breach the defence of the defending champions.

GWG.ng reports that France got an early advantage in the fifth minute of the game when Hernández put the defending champions ahead. However, they could not do more after that as Morrocco piled pressures but to no avail.

The case for the African representative was further worsened when Kolo Muani who came in for Oliver Giroud put in a second goal for France in the 79th minute.

The development has accordingly set the stage for a classic final between Argentina and France.

GWG.ng reports that eyes would be on the two leading goal scorers Lionel Messi leading the Argentina attack and Kylian Mbappé leading the France attack. Incidentally, both men are wearing the Number 10 jersey for their two nations.

With the victory over Morocco, France has the opportunity of being the first country in 60 years to win the World Cup back to back.
