The family of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu is to provide N1 million to the Department of State Services, DSS to enable the service feed and provide his medication it emerged on Friday.

The development followed the claim by Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor that he has not been feeding and taking medications on account of claims that the DSS did not have money to provide same to him.

The DSS has not reacted to the claim and efforts to get the spokesman, Dr Peter Afunanya to confirm or rebut the claim have so far been unsuccessful. His known phone number was not available as at midday on Friday.

GWG.ng reports that Kanu’s Special Counsel Aloy Ejimakor, disclosed that Nnamdi Kanu had not been given his drugs for the past nine days and could not feed as at the time of the visit on Thursday because the DSS said there was no money.

The lawyer who claimed he visited Kanu in the company of Prince Emma Kanu and Barrister Nnaemeka Ejiofor, disclosed that the IPOB leader asked him to make his situation public.

GWG.ng reports that Prince Emma Kanu who was in the delegation while confirming the situation said ,

“This is a confirmed story. “Yesterday (Thursday), when we visited him, he has not had any food. “I asked them (DSS) why, they said that there is no money for his regular meal and that they don’t have any money.

“So, we have also explained everything to the SAN, Mike Ozekhome.

“By today, SAN will prepare a cheque of N1m to be handed over to the DSS for his feeding. “I will also make sure I raise money and take the DSS along with me to make sure he has enough food to eat since the federal government can’t take care of him.”
