Ten Pregnant Ladies Freed As Police Raid Rivers Baby Factory

Four suspects have been taken into custody after the Rivers State Police Command smashed a child trafficking network in the Igwuruta and Omagwa, Obio/Akpor, and Ikwerre Local Government Areas of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that 10 pregnant women and teens were saved during the sting operation in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, January 10.

Iringe-Koko claimed that the 41 intelligence unit operatives of the command stormed two homes where the victims were being housed after receiving a tip.

Some of the victims freed, some of whom were nursing newborns, were as young as 15 years and others were significantly pregnant. They were enticed by the guarantee of monetary support based on the gender of the child they deliver
