Tinubu, Arise TV Fight Over NESG Live Broadcast Gets Messier

The renewed ‘fight’ between Arise News television and the Bola Tinubu Campaign was deepening on Saturday after Bayo Onanuga explained that the television network of breaching an agreement reached with other networks not to broadcast the NESG interaction with the candidate live.

Replying to the explanations put forward by the network’s director of news, Yemi Ajayi on the network’s decision to broadcast live such events of the major presidential candidates, Onanuga said that on the contrary that a decision had been reached to bar the live broadcasts.

Yemi Ajayi had said:

“Our cameras have capacity for live transmission in line with best global journalistic practice and in furtherance of this, it’s our policy to live stream, dip in and out of important events as we deem necessary.”

Responding, Bayo Onanuga said:

Nigerians were taking their perspectives on the issue with some supportive of the Tinubu Campaign and others challenging that it was afraid of the television station broadcasting a gaffe by the candidate.
