Akeredolu Breaks Silence On Health Challenge After Wife’s Leaked Audio

Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has confirmed that he is currently battling an undisclosed ailment but is gradually overcoming the health challenge.

This confirmation comes after a leaked audio recording of the Governor’s wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, revealed that he has been sick and that his Special Adviser on Multilateral and Intergovernmental Affairs, Bunmi Ademosun, had been giving him concoctions from fake pastors to treat himself.

In the audio, the First Lady of Ondo State also threatened to deal mercilessly with Ademosun, who she claims has been giving her husband concoctions from fake pastors. She also stated that the family relies on Western-style medical care and that Ademosun should stay away from her husband.

However, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, has stated that the Governor has received treatment and is recuperating quickly.

He also debunked rumors that the Governor is frail, noting that he has been discharging his official functions and is not bedridden as widely speculated.

Olatunde listed the Governor’s recent engagements, including last week’s Executive Council meeting and Security Council meeting where decisions were taken on the escalated clashes in Ikare-Akoko, as evidence of his good health.

Governor Akeredolu has assured the public that there is no cause for alarm and has urged them to ignore any baseless insinuations that may create a false sense of unnecessary anxiety.

The Governor he said, is expected to make a full recovery and continue his duties as the Governor of Ondo State.
