Tinubu director joins Atiku

Popular Northern female rights advocate, Najatu Muhammad, who stepped down as director of the Civil Society directorate of the Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council and her resignation from the All Progressives Congress, APC has formally teamed up with Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.

GWG.ng reports that Najatu Muhammad, a popular figure in the Nigerian CSO community resigned her membership of the APC in a letter dated January 19, 2023 addressed to the national chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

She had claimed in the letter that the burden on her conscience cannot allow her to continue to play the partisan role she was playing in mobilizing civil society for the Tinubu Campaign.

However, in a dramatic development it emerged late on Sunday that Najatu Muhammad had teamed up with Atiku Abubakar who is one of two serious contenders challenging Tinubu for the presidency.

The news of her defection was conveyed by Atiku campaign spokesman, Senator Dino Melaye.

He said in a post:

It’s happening now at Atiku’s residence. Hajia Najahatu is 100% Artikulated. APC PCC take note. Exodus of prominent Apc PCC members will be a daily continuous affair from now till 24th of February. SDM

The post of Najatu Muhammad joining Atiku from Tinubu followed an earlier post in which Senator Melaye showed eight alleged members of the APC PCC defecting to Atiku.
