The camp of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar responded on Monday evening as shocking videos of the stoning of the convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari in Kano surfaced online.

GWG.ng reports that the president was in Kano to commission a number of projects executed by the Abdullahi Ganduje administration. The visit had earlier been rescheduled by the governor on account of what he claimed was the tension arising from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN naira redesign policy that required citizens to exchange their old notes before the end of January.

However, following the decision of the CBN to extend the deadline by 10 days the visit was reinstated.

However, following the commissioning of a number of projects some citizens who lined the streets were seen pelting the presidential convoy and helicopter with stones.

Several reasons were being given for the incident with some alleging that it was deliberately planned to intimidate the government to abandon the naira redesign policy.

Whatever, Nigerians have been reacting to the stoning of the Buhari convoy  with the Atiku Camp jumping it through the spokesman of the campaign, Senator Dino Melaye.

He said:
