Obi, Kwankwaso, Deny Atiku’s Claim Of Alliance Against Tinubu
Claims by People Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar that he is in talks with two of his major rivals, Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP) have been rebuffed by representatives of the two men.
GWG.ng reports that Atiku in an interview with BBC Hausa service, broadcast on Tuesday claimed that he was holding talks with Obi and Kwankwaso towards providing support in the form of an alliance ostensibly against Bola Tinubu of the APC
According to him the talks were with the aim of the two who he claimed do not threaten him supporting him against the APC.
“I see no threat because we are not together with them (Kwankwaso and Obi). We are in talk with them, one of them may possibly come,” he said.
On the lingering PDP Crisis, Atiku said, “Each party has its internal crisis, we are still talking with them. Most are neither in PDP nor in other parties and definitely that will not make us loose the election because we okay with the elections preparations for now.
“Elections now is not like in the past when a governor will dictate who to vote for, elections today is in the hands of the voters.”
However, the claims of Atiku were immediately rebuffed by agents of Obi and Kwankwaso who denied any talks with Atiku.
Dr Yinusa Tanko, who is a spokesman to Obi denied the talks with Atiku saying it was a figment of his imagination affirming that the Labour Party presidential candidate was in good position to win the election.
A spokesman of Kwankwaso’s just like Obi’s aide also denied the talks with Atiku.
