Presidency Mum As APC Explains Tinubu’s ‘Criticisms’ Of Buhari’s Policies
By Emmanuel Aziken
The All Progressives Congress, APC has explained perceived criticisms of the Muhammadu Buhari administration by the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu saying that they were really directed at picking out those within the administration determined to undermine the system.
The presidency was, however, mum on the issue as at Wednesday.
The party’s national publicity secretary, Barrister Felix Morka made the explanation of the critticisms as he explained the gaffes of the candidate as natural which he said could happen to anyone including journalists.
He spoke on Arise News Television’s Newsnight programme monitored by GWG.ng
He spoke following recent condemnations of the fuel scarcity crisis, naira redesign policy and the condemnation by Tinubu of the depreciation of the value of the naira.
Asked to explain the perceived criticism of the Buhari government by Tinubu, the APC publicity scribe, Morka, said:
“What Bola Ahmed Tinubu did was not to criticize or condemn he was simply speaking to those within the system, to those who are seeking to undermine the policies.
“We have people who are there irrespective of whether APC is in power or not, what our candidate was saying was that Nigerians deserve to have the products available to them.”
Asked to also respond to the gaffes of Tinubu following his explanation of the criticisms of the Buhari APC controlled government, Morka said:
“You just said Gaffeey. I gaffe all the time. You just gaffed now and I am sure that my dear sister gaffes all the time,” he said to laughter after the anchor had initially said gaffey before correcting himself to say gaffe.
“There are serious questions on the table to deal with, gaffes or no gaffes, the bottom line is that we have candidates who went through primaries who are now candidates of the respective parties and one of them will emerge. You will not emerge. One of them will emerge.”
