Elections: NUC Directs Closure Of Universities From February 22

Nigerian universities are to be shut down between February 22 and March 14, 2023 the Nigerian Universities Commission, NUC has directed.

The directive conveyed by the Deputy Executive Secretary, Administration, of the NUC to all Nigerian universities was upon the directive of the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

A memo from the NUC to the universities sited by GWG.ng stated that the directive was part of the considerations to ensure safety of lives and property during the federal and state level elections.

GWG.ng reports that the presidential and National Assembly Elections are scheduled for February 25 while the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are to hold on March 11.
