Earthquake: Turkey’s Presidential Plane Ferries 16 Babies To Safety

16 babies who were discovered alone and without their mothers following an earthquake in areas of Turkey and Syria have been safely transferred to the Turkish capital.

Following the deadly 7.8 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that occurred in southeast Turkey and Syria on Monday, President Recep Tayyip Erdoan’s plane was utilized to transport 16 infants from Kahramanmaras to Ankara.

The aircraft has been placed on alert to be utilized for earthquake-related tasks, such as delivering medical teams and aid to various parts of the nation. Additionally, it is being utilized to deliver seriously injured patients to Ankara for medical attention.

The newborns, which the ministry of family and social services believes are undamaged, will now be cared for by children’s organization.

Two of the infants have not yet been identified because they were taken out of earthquake-related debris. Authorities have not yet been able to contact the families of the remaining 14 patients, who were at Kahramanmaras hospitals receiving treatment at the time of the earthquake.

Emine Erdogan, the wife of the president of Turkey, on Wednesday, February 8, paid a visit to the babies at Etlik City Hospital following the earthquake.

The earthquakes were felt throughout the Middle East, but they were most intense in Turkey and its war-torn southern neighbor, Syria. Thousands have died in the two nations.

The region has had more than 60 earthquakes and aftershocks in the last 24 hours, according to the United States Geological Survey. Nations from all around the world have offered assistance, and rescue personnel have flown in to support the operations of the emergency services.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, has proclaimed seven days of national mourning, and memorial lights have been turned on in Bosnia and Israel.
