The police have confirmed an attack which Labour Party supporters claim was orchestrated by alleged All Progressives Congress, APC thugs on them ahead of Saturday’s mega rally by Peter Obi at the Tafewa Balewa Square in Lagos.

Video evidence of the attack was posted on twitter by music legend, Charly Boy.

A report by online news portal, Daily Post averred that the attack occurred at Jakande and Lekki areas of Lagos.

The report quoted some of the victims as saying that the thugs gave machete cuts on persons, broke their vehicle, snatched their phones and other items for allegedly wearing clothes carrying the LP logo.

The spokesperson for the LP presidential campaign council, Dr Aliyu Tanko confirmed the development to Daily Post.

He said, “the ObiDent Movement is under attack in Lagos, they are stopping our people from coming to the TBS rally.

“Nothing can stop a movement whose time has come. Security operatives take note. We keep moving Obidently and Yusfully.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin also confirmed the unfortunate incident but did not give a clue as to the aggressor.

“I don’t know if they are Labour Party or APC members but I can confirm that some people attacked others and the DPO in that area is already on the matter,” the Lagos police spokesman said without giving in on whether those who were under attack were supporters of Obi or not.
