Supporters Of Atiku, Obi, Mock As Wike Gifts ‘Empty Stadium’ To Tinubu

Supporters of Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday night put Governor Nyesom Wike on the spot after the APC presidential campaign rally in Rivers State was reckoned as the least attended of the campaign rallies organized for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu across the country.

The poorly attended rally which incidentally was populated by devotees of former militant leader, Asari Dokubo was seen as an anti-climax for Wike who has been reckoned to be quietly backing Tinubu against his party’s candidate, Atiku.

GWG.ng reports that Wike’s support for Tinubu in the PDP dominated state has provoked questions especially given the strong surge for Obi.

After initially approving the Adokie Amasiemaka Stadium for Atiku, Governor Wike cancelled the approval and again renewed the approval which was scorned by the PDP candidate.

There are indications that Atiku may have decided to cancel campaigning in the state on account of the security concerns that his local campaign aides have faced in the state.

Wike has also despite two recent visits from Obi refused to cave in to the Labour Party presidential candidate having reportedly worked out an unknown deal with Tinubu.

Following the poorly attended rally at the Gowon Stadium on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 Wike received the Tinubu campaign team to banters in the Government House.

However, the banters may have only covered the concern of the Tinubu Campaign on their dire prospects in Rivers State despite the covert support of the state’s strong man, Wike.

On Wednesday night many netzins were reacting to the development on twitter in an apparent gusto that Wike is unable to deliver the state to Tinubu.
