APC Releases Timetable For Imo, Kogi, Bayelsa Governorship Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the timetable for the governorship primaries in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa States.

The National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, released a notice detailing the party’s plan for the primaries.

In Kogi State, the sale of delegate forms for a Special Congress will begin on January 30 and end on February 1, 2023.

Completed delegate forms will be accepted until February 2, 2023, and ward delegates will be elected on February 7, 2023.

The Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for governorship aspirants will be available between February 15 and 22, 2023.

Aspirants must submit their completed forms and accompanying documents to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on February 22, 2023.

Aspirants will be screened between February 24 and March 26, 2023, and the results of the screening exercise will be published on March 28, 2023.

Aspirants who do not have a favorable screening exercise result can appeal on March 29, 2023.

For the primaries in Imo and Bayelsa states, delegates will be elected on April 8, 2023, while the primary election will hold on April 10, 2023.

The congresses to ratify the results of the primaries of both states are set for April 11, 2023, and the party will hear appeals for the Imo and Bayelsa primaries on April 12, 2023.

The APC has put measures in place to ensure that the governorship primaries in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa States are conducted in an orderly and transparent manner.

The party has advised all aspirants to comply with the rules and regulations governing the primaries to ensure a level playing field for all.
