Election: Don’t Focus On Presidency Alone, Falz Tells Nigerians
Nigerian singer, Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, has advised Nigerian voters to pay attention when electing legislators as they head to the polls on February 25th.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Falz urged citizens not to focus solely on the presidential race but also on who they elect as Speakers and legislators.
The rapper explained that legislators are responsible for making and amending all the laws that affect Nigerians and everything they do.
He went on to use the example of the current Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who has been elected five times.
Falz emphasized the importance of voting wisely and paying attention to who is elected to the legislature, saying that he cannot overstate how significant the legislators are.
He urged Nigerians to “open their eyes” and carefully consider their choices when casting their votes.
He said:
“As you go out to vote, do not just focus on the seat of the president. We need to know how we are electing as our legislators
They are responsible for making and amending all the laws that has to do with us and every single thing that we do.
I cannot overstate how important the legislators are. Open your eyes”.
