What I’ll Do If My Child Approaches Me For Gender Change – BBN Bam Bam
Reality TV star Oluwabamike Olawunmi Adenibuyan popularly known as Bambam has sparked a conversation about gender identity with her recent statement on how she would react if her child approached her about a gender change.
In a video, Bambam revealed that if her child came to her and expressed a desire to change their gender, she would ask questions, educate them, and allow them to decide. She also said she would pray to God to help “fix their mind,” and show them pictures explaining the differences between boys and girls.
She said:
“”If my child tells me she wants to become a boy, I will ask questions and I will reorient her and educate her and allow her decide.
“And I will also pray to God to fix her mind.
“I’ll show her a picture telling her that this is what boys have that makes them boys and this is what a woman has.
“Biologically, I’ll let her know that we both have the same feminine features.
“If something within her feels she is masculine, I’ll talk to God about it”.
Bambam’s comments have ignited a debate about how parents should respond to their children’s gender identity.
While some have praised her approach, others have criticized her for suggesting that prayer could change someone’s gender identity.
