Huge Turnout Of Supporters As Tinubu, Wife, Vote
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu voted at Alausa, Ikeja on Saturday morning amid a throng of well-wishers who clubbed him as he arrived the polling unit in the company of his wife and many rowdy well wishers.
Senator Remi Tinubu, the wife of the APC presidential candidate had a hard time trying to quiet the crowd who were overwhelmingly loud in showing their support for the APC presidential candidate.
Asked of the huge crowd that thronged him as he arrived the polling centre, Tinubu said:
“It was a very good turn out and this is expected. We need a very good turnout and that is the adoption and commitment to democracy and the democratic process must take root.”
Asked how confident he was of winning in the poll, the former Lagos State governor said he was very certain. “I am too certain.”
Of the crowd that welcomed him, he said:
“I am very confident with what they are doing and just appeal to them to continue to keep peace, maintain orderliness and maintain peaceful environment for democracy to take proper root in the country.
“I suffered for it, I fought for it and it is taking place, we have to celebrate it,” Tinubu said after he had cast his vote.
