Breaking: Atiku Accuses Umahi, Uzodimma Of Plotting To Suppress Obi’s Votes
Atiku Abubakar was on Monday morning seeking the interest of his 2019 running mate and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi after he called out Governors Dave Umahi and Hope Uzodimma of trying to suppress Obi’s votes in Ebonyi and Imo States to the purpose of boosting Bola Tinubu.
According to Atiku after Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso suppressed Tinubu in Lagos and Kano States, the APC presidential candidate was also falling short of the constitutional requirement of 25% in
Atiku Abubakar has cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on the alleged plots by Governors Dave Umahi and Hope Uzodimma of Ebonyi and Imo States respectively to suppress the votes of Labour Party towards shoring up votes of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the two states.
Speaking through his aides Dele Momodu and Phrank Shaibu on Monday morning, the Atiku Campaign alleged that Tinubu’s path to victory had been mortally wounded in the Southwest where he said that Labour took the wind off the sail of the APC
“We are the first to cross the 25% in 24 states and we have checked on the others and we have seen that there is no way that they can make it.
“We are particularly worried about Ebonyi and Imo States because they have APC governors. The governors are putting a lot of pressure on INEC, that’s our biggest worry. Once they are not able to change the original results in those two states, there is no way that they can have 25% in 24 states.”
“Labour Party did very well in those places and they should not alter the results.”
“We are the only party that has been able to spread across and the only place we didn’t do well is the Southeast and that is understandable. In two regions in the South we are very comfortable, in the three regions in the North, we are very comfortable, so, how can anybody defeat us?”
The Atiku media aides further said that Tinubu’s path to victory was mortally wounded by the impressive performance of Obi in Lagos which denied him the millions of votes he would have brought to muzzle other candidates. He said that Rabiu Kwankwaso further dimmed Tinubu’s aspiration with a good showing in Kano denying the APC candidate the route to victory through the two highest voting states in the country.
