Thaddeus Achief Attah, the honorable-elect for Eti-Osa Constituency, has responded to an open letter written by Nigerian actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, regarding his plans for the area.

Okanlawon had written in the letter that he voted for Banky W, who was not elected, because he believed he would have been the ideal person for the job.

However, the open letter was met with heavy backlash, with many accusing the actor of being insensitive and condescending.

Some people even accused him of being emotional because a celebrity lost.

In response, Okanlawon apologized to Thaddeus Attah and those who were offended by his post, acknowledging his mistakes and saying he should have used better words and refrained from projecting his emotions onto the other person.

In his own response, Attah stated that he was aware of all that has been going on, and that he would be granting interviews and conversations in due time. He emphasized that his mission had always been to serve the good people of Etiosa and be accountable to them by operating an open-door policy that would foster inclusivity and transparency.

He wrote:

“Dear Lagosians and Fellow Etiosa
Constituents!!
I am not oblivious to all that has been going on lately on social media. I have seen the varying perspectives of many, knowing fully that as humans, we are all entitled to different opinions, I truly understand and respect them.

My mission has always been to serve the good people of Etiosa and be accountable to them by operating an open door policy that will foster inclusivity and
transparency.  I Implore everyone to let us work together in love, unity and peace in order to make history together.

In due time, I will be granting interviews and
conversations but for now my DM is open to all”.
