Senator Predicts What Will Happen To Emefiele When Tinubu Takes Over
Senator Shehu Sani has predicted what will happen to Mr Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN when President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu becomes his successor.
Senator Sani made his prediction against the background of insinuations that the naira redesign policy promulgated by the Emefiele led apex bank was meant to frustrate the presidential aspiration of Tinubu.
At the core of the policy is the curtailment of the use of cash by individuals and corporate organisations.
GWG.ng reports that without admitting guilt leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC had claimed that the policy was directed at them. Governor Nasir El-Rufai speaking after the Supreme Court ordered the CBN to recognize the old N500 and N1,000 notes as legal tender had claimed that the Federal Government introduced the policy to frustrate the APC’s presidential candidate.
He, however, did not state how the policy frustrated the APC presidential candidate or why the APC has been the main party complaining. His assertion came against the background of claims that some politicians have been keeping loads of the old currency for vote buying.
Senator Shehu Sani, a former member of the APC reacting to the development following the victory of Asiwaju Tinubu in a twitter post predicted what will happen to Emefiele when Buhari leaves office. According to him, the CBN governor will be like a Zebra in the hands of tigers after Buhari’s exit.
He posted thus:
“When Baba (Buhari) is gone, Emefiele will be like Zebra in the hands of Tigers,” Sani said.
