How Emefiele Was Set Up In N400bn ‘Scam’ – Melaye (Video)
Senator Dino Melaye, has said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC spent over N400 billion in a scam conceived by two men, President Muhammadu Buhari and INEC chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu in which Governor Godwin Emefiele was thrown under the bus.
Yakubu in a one minute 45 seconds video said that the whole concept of the naira redesign policy of the Buhari government was also a deception as he disclosed that naira notes were given to the All Progressives Congress, APC to spend on election day while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was deprived.
This is coming hours after the PDP leadership led by Senator Iyorchia Ayu, and other party chieftains stormed the headquarters of INEC to protest the declaration of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, as the president-elect after the February 25, 2023 elections.
GWG.ng reports that the PDP and other major opposition parties have lamented that the presidential election was rigged for the APC.
Melaye further remarked “we spent over N400bn just for a caricature show. INEC deceived Nigerians. President Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Mahmood Yakubu are the greatest c-n men that came out of Africa.
“The whole concept of redesigning naira was a deception because money was given to Bola Tinubu, the APC shared new notes on Election Day across the country on Election Day and the PDP was starved of funds.
“The whole issue of going to court, accusing Emefiele was part of the scam, all part of the drama, all part of the deception, a grand scale deception against Nigerians. I want to warn that this is not the end. Weeping may endure for the night but joy cometh in the morning,” Melaye said of the naira redesign which he described as a scam that put Emefiele as a scapegoat.
