She had extended her congratulations to the Nigerian people for exercising their democratic right in deciding their next ruler.

Her tweet read:

“Congratulations to @officialABAT on his victory in #Nigeria, and to the Nigerian people for exercising their democratic right to vote. I encourage the new President to champion #WomenLeaders in his government and to ensure that the rights of women & girls remain a priority.”

However, hours after she put up the tweet, the former President deleted it.

Her action is coming against the background of mutterings in some quarters in Nigeria and the international community that the election in Nigeria was massively rigged in favour of Tinubu.
