Naira Loses 0.13% In Black Market Exchange On March 13
The naira depreciated marginally on Monday, March 13, 2023 as it exchanged for 755 to the dollar at the black market according to traders in the unofficial trading posts.
The 755 it sold was 0.13% less than the N 754 it sold on Friday meaning some measure of stability as the naira has continued to hold in that region for most of the month.
GWG.ng reports that the exchange of the naira for the dollar in the black market on March 13, 2023 was also being moderated in part by the unavailability of the naira with many people in the local economy also trading the naira through transfers.
Meanwhile, the Naira on Friday lost to the dollar as it exchanged at N461.50 at the Investors’ and Exporters’ window.
The rate represented a decrease of 0.11 per cent, compared to the N461 for which it exchanged to the dollar on Thursday.
The open indicative rate closed at N461.50 to the dollar on Friday.
An exchange rate of N462.44 to the dollar was the highest rate recorded within the day’s trading before it settled at N461.50.
The Naira sold for as low as N446 to the dollar within the day’s trading.
A total of US$ 82.56 million was traded at the official Investors’ and Exporters’ window. (NAN)
