Fani-Kayode Mum As Tweeps Rage Over Future Of ‘Igbo’ Sons
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode was on Wednesday morning mum as twitter users took to the platform in rage over his recent assertions against the Igbo in Lagos and that despite having four sons born of an Igbo mother.
Fani-Kayode who is from Osun State has four sons born of an Igbo woman just as the Lagos Labour Party govenorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who is born of an Igbo mother.
In posts in the public space, Fani-Kayode who is now an ally of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu following his past denunciations of the president-elect has flayed what he described as the alleged attempt of the Igbo for political expression in Lagos.
He had said in a tweet that the Igbo were no longer welcome in Lagos, saying:
I am constrained to go further by saying that I also share the views of my dear friend, brother & colleague, Omo Oba Bayo Onanuga, who reflected the views and thoughts of millions of our fellow Yorubas when he expressed deep and legitimate concerns about the attempt by the Ibo community in Lagos to take over our land and claim it as theirs.
The truth is that the Ibo in Lagos are no longer welcome by the people of Lagos. And unless they change their attitude quickly & drastically it may well be better for them to go home.
His action has drawn strong reactions with some now going to challenge him on putting the political prospects of his four sons conceived by his former Igbo partner, Precious Chikwendu.
GWG.ng gathered some of the reactions:
Fani-Kayode has meanwhile ignored the attacks on his stance and the attacks that his sons were born of an Igbo mother.
