The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has referred Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue to its National Disciplinary Committee over alleged involvement in anti-party activities and at the same time suspended former Governor Ayodele Fayose and former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim from the party

This party disclosed this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja on Thursday.

Ologunagba said that the PDP NWC also resolved to suspend former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim and former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State from the party.

GWG.ng reports that the decision by the PDP to suspend Fayose came after a fiesty televiion interview on Arise where he stated that he worked against the party in the presidenital election and also worked against the party in the governorship election in Lagos.

“The votes that made it happen in Ekiti like that we brought it. This is a public space, I am not saying it under the table. I support Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, I support Sanwo-Olu in Lagos, I support Makinde in Oyo,” Fayose said earlier on Thursday in an interview on Arise News television.

Others suspended by the PDP besides Fayose were Prof. Dennis Ityavyar (Benue) and Dr Aslam Aliyu (Zamfara).

He said that the party leadership took the decision after extensive review of its affairs in the country and pursuant to the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017)

He urged all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of PDP across the country to remain united and focused at this critical time.(NAN)

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Governor-elect, Senator Uba Sani, has said that he will challenge some election results where the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won with unimaginable margins.

The Governor-elect who spoke in Hausa, expressed surprise that PDP won some local government areas with bogus figures.

Sani said that he will go to the Election Petition Tribunal to contest PDP’s victory in those areas, adding that after the verdict, the margin of victory between him and Alhaji Isa Ashiru, the PDP candidate, will widen.
