Life Coach Solomon Buchi Under Fire Over N50k Reward For N10m Recovered Money

Solomon Buchi is under fire over his recently deleted controversial tweet in which he played down criticisms of a N50,000 reward to a man who returned N10.8 million mistakenly paid into his account.

His tweet was a response to the trending video of a man awarded 50k for his honesty after returning the 10.8 million naira mistakenly sent to him. The viral video raised arguments about whether the 50k was too small or enough to be given as a reward for returning such huge amount of money

GWG.ng reports that, reacting to the scenario, Solomon tweeted a response ”When a man doesn’t rape an indecently dressed woman or a drunk woman, he should be rewarded with like 2M Naira. it’s not easy to be a decent human being”.

His tweet was, however, criticized for having no relevance to the issue and too big of a comparison. Many felt that was an insensitve approach and rape was too senstive a topic to be used in a sarcastic tweet like that.

Solomon Buchi, however, deleted the tweet and an explanation tweet was rendered to his followers. Solomon explained that he was innocently trying to paint an equivalence of how people should not be rewarded for not committing crime especially about the argument that 50k wasn’t a good reward for him, and people should be decent for decency sake.

He said, ”The tweet I made about rape was me innocently trying to paint an equivalence of how people should not be rewarded for not committing crime, especially about the argument that 50K wasn’t a good enough ‘reward’ for him returning 10m that doesn’t belong to him. People should be decent for decency sake. However, that didn’t go well. I should have been more sensitive with my wording. I never intended to sound insensitive. I was riled by how much people tried justifying rewarding not committing crime. I apologize. It was a gaffe. Again, I apologize.”
