Nigerian fashion entrepreneur Toyin Lawani has shared a humorous story on her Instagram page about forgetting she was fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

In her post, Lawani explained that she had planned to start fasting that day and had even gone for a site inspection before feeling hungry and heading to a restaurant to eat oha soup and fufu.

It was only after she had finished her meal and was back in the car that she remembered she was supposed to be fasting.

According to Lawani, even her assistant who had accompanied her on the outing had eaten with her and failed to remind her of her fast.

Lawani’s post has since gone viral, with many social media users finding her story relatable and amusing. Some have even commended her for being honest and sharing her experience with others.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection. During this time, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs during daylight hours. The fast is broken at sunset with a meal called iftar.

Forgetting that one is fasting is a common experience during Ramadan, and it can happen to anyone. It is often said that the act of forgetting is not considered a violation of the fast, as long as the individual does not intentionally break it.
