Erik Ten Hag Shares Blame After Manchester United’s 2-0 Loss To Newcastle
By Eze Dike
Erik ten Hag has lamented Manchester United’s dire display after the team lackadaisically fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United at St. James Park.
After a first half that saw the hosts on top in everything but the score, they broke through in the 65th minute through Joe Willock. Callum Wilson added the second in the 88th minute to put the result out of reach. Newcastle have now leapfrogged the Red Devils to move 3rd in the league table with a game in hand each for both sides.
“I hate to say it but they were better today – especially their determination, passion and desire”. GWG.ng quotes Erik ten Hag as telling Sky Sports.
“As a team, we have to be honest, I do feel Newcastle are a very good side but I don’t think they won the game on quality today, they won it on passion and hunger, desire, attitude and they clearly had that higher motivation than we had. That can’t be possible”.
GWG.ng reports that with the loss to Newcastle United, that Manchester United have now failed to win a match since lifting the Carabao Cup in late February.
