Aisha Yesufu Leads Charge As Obidients Savage Soyinka Over Debate Call

Obidients as supporters of Peter Obi are called were on the offensive on Friday evening after being drawn into battle by Prof Wole Soyinka with prominent activist, Aisha Yesufu leading the charge following the Nobel Laureate’s request for a public debate with Datti Baba-Ahmed.

GWG.ng reports Wole Soyinka had in a statement earlier on Friday dismissed the Obidients as a virulent lot saying that their vitriolic responses represented a descent to anarchy.

He had concluded the statement with an invitation to Datti Baba-Ahmed, Peter Obi’s running mate to a public debate on Channels.

Not surprisingly, his invitation immediately fired up the Obidients with the celebrated patroness of the movement, Aisha Yesufu leading the charge and dismissing Soyinka’s call for a debate which they said was unnecessary.

Even more, while some mocked that Soyinka was now a supporter of the APC, some others called on him to debate with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who they mocked put himself away from debate during the campaign season.

Exactly!  So Wole Soyinka loves debate so much yet he couldn’t tell drug baron Tinubu his candidate to attend the presidential debate. I don’t see him calling for debate on the insecurity and poverty in the country, not even among the National Assembly members. Nonsense!

I can understand Prof Soyinka’s anger. He is not having it as easy as used to have when they used propaganda to shove GEJ away. GEJ wasn’t perfect, but why not speak out when the worst too over.. His excuse always was discussing Bubu is not good for his sanity. We now his reason
