NYSC Announces Date For Batch A Stream 2 Registration
The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC on Saturday announced dates for the 2023 Batch A Stream 2 online registration exercise.
The corps announced the dates in a post on its official twitter page.
This was announced in a post on the Corps official Twitter page on Saturday.
According to the post, the registration would commence on Tuesday April 11, until Monday, April 17, 2023.
GWG.ng reports that the call up is coming ahead of the 50th anniversary of the NYSC scheduled to hold in May.
The NYSC was conceived by the General Yakubu Gowon led military government in 1973 as a way of furthering the integration of the nation following the bruising civil war that lasted from 1967 to 1970.
However, the establishment of the NYSC was met with strong opposition by mainly student groups and the then National Union of Nigerian Students, NUNS who saw it as a way of keeping the graduates from fully integrating themselves into post-graduate life given the very low unemployment rate at that time.
Ahead of the forthcoming NYSC anniversary, and with the Batch A stream 2 registration in view, the Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, had last month disclosed a 22-man Inter-Ministerial committee to mastermind the 50th anniversary.
