A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Cairo Ojougboh has claimed that the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege worked for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi in the March 18th presidential election because according to him the DSP never believed in the possible victory of the APC presidential candidate.

Ojougboh made the assertion while speaking in an interview on Arise Television, monitored by our correspondent on Saturday.

The APC chieftain claimed that the deputy senate president worked against the emergence of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

According to Ojougboh Omo-Agege never believed Tinubu would win the keenly-contested presidential election and hence the APC governorship campaign even went to the extent of pasting pictures of Omo-Agege to those of Petr Obi.

He also dismissed claims that the Omo-Agege’s faction of the party expelled him from APC in Delta state.

Ojougboh: “Omo-Agege did anti-party, he never believed Tinubu will win the presidential election, look at all his postal it was Peter Obi. He never believed Tinubu would win the election; he never worked for his emergence.

“Look at the way he carried out his campaign in Delta State; he gathered small boys and used them. He said he was in politics to injure people, after which he goes around begging leaders.”

The Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, meanwhile has dismissed the assertion that he worked for Obi against the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect.

Omo-Agege, APC governorship candidate in Delta State, said he would not dignify Cairo Ojougboh’s allegation with a response.

Omo-Agege, in a statement on Saturday issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sunny Areh, described Ojuougboh as an impetuous irritant.

“Cairo Ojuougboh is an impetuous irritant, a sinking man who does not deserve a response from the Senate’s Deputy President,” he stated.
