Gbade says Obi did not endorse Labour Party Abure

The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in the Lagos governorship election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has accused some traditional rulers in the state of reducing themselves to ballot box snatchers because of politics.

The LP flagbearer was reacting to a viral video of thugs setting ballot papers on fire in Tedi area in P.U 009, P.U 010 in Ojo Town Ward, Ojo LGA. Lagos.

On Thursday, the LP candidate stated via his verified Twitter handle that politics and politicians have denigrated the state’s traditional institutions.

Rhodes-Vivour also stated that politics forced some traditional rulers to schedule the festival during the day, emphasizing that they have been reduced to ballot snatchers and criminals.

He wrote: “I have respect for our traditional institutions and our culture. It is politics and politicians that have denigrated our traditional institutions.

It is politics that would make kings do ORO during the DAY! It is politics that would reduce a baale to a ballot snatcher #ourlagos,” the Lagos Labour Party governorship candidate said of the incursion into politics by many of the state’s traditional rulers.

GWG.ng reports that the campaign in Lagos State was shadowed by extreme provocations with the tradtional rulers allegedly taking position with the authorities in the state in a move that was interpretted as the involvement of the monarchs in politics.
