‘I’m Tired Of Being Called Tinubu/APC Mole,’ Foluke Daramola’s Husband Dumps Labour Party

Olukayode Salako, the husband of nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola has resigned his membership from the Labour Party (LP).

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Salako said he is stepping down as the special assistant to the national chairman of the party on Lagos affairs.

In a letter, addressed to the party’s national chairman, Salako also said he is “withdrawing my membership as a card-carrying stakeholder in LP”.

Some weeks ago, Salako — alongside five other chieftains of LP — was suspended over alleged anti-party activities.

“Our post-mortem of what really transpired and happened during the general election revealed that a lot of people who called themselves members of the party were indeed working for the opposition,” Sam Okpala, Lagos LP secretary, had said.

But in the letter, Salako said his decision to leave the Labour Party was a “personal one” and to “save me from the attacks of being labeled an APC/Tinubu mole”.

“I wish to inform you and the leadership authority of the party that I am resigning from the official position above and also withdrawing my membership as a card-carrying stakeholder in the Labour Party in Lagos State, from today, April 20, 2023,” the letter reads in part.

“Dropping my membership of the Labour Party at this critical time of my political career, is like dropping a child one has groomed passionately with the best of intention, sincerity, commitment, and unusual affection.

“However, it is a personal decision I have to take to save myself from the consistent accusations and public attacks of being labeled an APC/Tinubu mole in the party, among other personal reasons.

“I thank the party for the privileged opportunity it availed me to serve as the State Chairman of the party; for the ticket to contest as a candidate in the February 25, 2023, House of Representatives election, and the appointment to serve your office as the Special Adviser on Lagos State Labour party affairs, and its Liason operations.”

Salako and Foluke got married in 2013.

Their union is blessed with two children.
