Tithing helps your local church actively be the church by helping others. Giving encourages a grateful and generous spirit and can help steer us away from being greedy or loving money too much.

Payment of tithe is mandatory to Christians. An Old Testament commandment, it is made popular by Malachi 3:10, where Christians are required to give 10 per cent of their income to God through the priest. If faithfully adhered to, the act is said to attract rich blessings from the Lord.

Here are reasons why you should pay your tithe;

To honor the Creator

To acknowledge your heritage

To fulfill the covenant

To show love

To fulfill an obligation

To escape condemnation

To spread the gospel

To avoid a curse

To be consistent

To enjoy God’s blessing
