Inspiring Story Of Nigerian Woman Who Carried King Charles’ Orb At Coronation

The inspiring story determination of the Nigerian woman, Professor Elizabeth Anionwu who was nominated to carry the Kings Orb at the coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III on Saturday has come to fore.

Despite her little physical association with Nigeria, Dame Elizabeth Anionwu chose to adorn herself in Nigerian dress to represent her cultural affinity with the land of her father adorning herself in an African dress with a head gear.

GWG.ng reports that Dame Elizabeth Anionwu is a professor of nursing who came to look for her biological father in Nigeria at her adult age.

She grew up being abused as a young woman by her white stepfather who was married to her white mother.

She was put in a care home, and she achieved success.  She met her father at a later age. Her father was Lawrence Anionwu, the first permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the First Ambassador to Italy. Despite that,  she was placed in care, and her stepfather abused her because of her colour. She is today, proudly a Professor Emeritus, Dame, and CBE.

She is always proud to be associated with Nigeria.

At King Charles’ coronation, Professor Elizabeth Anionwu was nominated to carry the king’s gold orb, and she represented the NHS. She is an accomplished professor emeritus.
