Plateau Governor-Elect, Mutfwang Pledges Collaboration With PAN
Plateau’s governor-elect, Mr Caleb Mutfwang on Thursday in Jos pledged to collaborate with Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Ltd (PAN) and its training school to provide modern skills for auto technicians.
Mutfwang made the pledge when he received visiting PAN management members.
He said his administration would use the training school to improve and provide modern skills for auto technicians since modern vehicles were now computerised.
Mutfwang recalled that he worked at PAN in the past and that he sent 12 persons to the Peugeot training school when he was chairman, Mangu Local Government Council in Plateau.
He explained that the trainees spent nine months at the training school as part of efforts to start a mechanics village in the council area.
He added that the private sector should be encouraged with partnerships that would bring positive feedbacks to Plateau.
Earlier, Acting Managing Director of PAN, Ms Taiwo Oluleye, congratulated the governor-elect on his impressive outing at the March 18 election.
He prayed for wisdom and sound mind for the governor-elect to provide credible leadership in the state.
Oluleye said the team was in Plateau to introduce the PAN brand to the state, stressing that the new management had been working to stabilise the company.
She explained that the company had officially exited from the Peugeot brand and was now producing the Chery and the Higer brands assembled at the plant in Kaduna.
She said the company’s products could be used by top government officials, middle and lower cadre officials and for transport services.
Oluleye appealed to the Plateau governor-elect to patronise PAN and prayed for a successful tenure for Mutfwang. (NAN)
